At the higher levels of atmosphere, there is a gas layer called ozone. It makes sure that global warming does not occur. But effluents from some materials called CFCs (Chloro Fluoro Carbons) deplete the ozone layer and this is causing global warming. To avert these, steps should be taken so that the materials do not release CFCs.
