Phil Spector, who produced some of the most famous record since 1960, has been found guilty of murder. The verdict was given after a five month retrial by a twelve member jury that included six women. The victim, Lana Clarkson, was a hostess at a nightclub where she met Phil Spector.She died in Spector’s mansion in Los Angeles in 2003, by a bullet that was shot in her mouth.

The prosecution lawyer insisted that Phil had killed her, while Phil claimed that she had shot herself.Spector’s hits include the Beatles’ Let it be Album and John Lennon’s Imagine.Spector is considered a pioneer in producing the sounds heard on radio in the sixties. For music fans, the record producer’s sentence has come as sad news.
